November 2024 Schedule
Chair Yoga for Beginners and Older Adults
4 Wednesdays: 11/6, 11/13, 11/20
10:00-10:45 am
In-person: Primary Care Partnership, Main Road, Westport MA
Chair Yoga is a gentle form of yoga that is practiced sitting on a chair, or standing using a chair for support. As we age, our muscles tend to tighten and we may begin to feel joint pain and more limited range of motion. Practicing with chairs as an aid, students build strength, stability, and ease of both mind and body, without the worry of stressing joints and limbs or losing balance.
With regular practice, practitioners may find everyday activities become easier as their joints become more flexible, muscles become stronger, and balance improves. Each class concludes with a few minutes of guided meditation practice to help stabilize the mind and reduce feelings of anxiety that often accompany the natural aging process.
3 Sessions: $60 (pre-registration required) *no drop-in option

Meditation Mentoring:
Working with a mentor can be a great way to sustain the benefits of a regular meditation practice. Checking in with a mentor can help spark a student’s own insight as to what may be helpful when certain obstacles arise in their seated practice.
To schedule a complimentary 15 minute ZOOM consult to meet, discuss goals and see if our 1:1 program is a good fit, please follow this link: Free Consult
Podcast:
There are now over 60 FREE episodes available on my Daily Drops Podcast. Daily Drops are brief audio recordings that introduce and instruct Mindfulness Meditation practices. I began this project in the spring of 2020 to support those looking to begin or maintain a personal meditation practice.
Daily Drops are available on Spotify , Apple Podcasts and Amazon Music.
Thank you for your continued support. I hope to see you in a class soon!

Escape the Northeast next winter and spend a week at the Blue Osa, a beachfront paradise on the Osa peninsula in Costa Rica, one of the most bio-diverse regions in the world. Come nourish your mind, body and soul on this unforgettable journey. With 13 rooms and a capacity for 28 guests, this intimate beachfront eco-resort offers the ultimate sanctuary if you’re seeking solace from the hectic world. Nestled off-the-beaten-path in the virgin Costa Rican rainforest of the Southern Osa Peninsula, guests have an endless selection of quiet places to meditate and reflect. 50 meters away from the waves, you can see the private beach while practicing yoga from our elegantly designed second floor Yoga Studio. On site, there is also a chemical-free lap pool for an afternoon swim. Built from the ground up as a sustainable micro-grid that runs mostly on solar power, Blue Osa intends to leave the smallest carbon footprint possible. Eco-friendly not only in design, Blue Osa Beach Resort encourages guests to be mindful by implementing a morning silence to a pre-dinner ritual of presenting the food during their freshly prepared organic farm-to-table communal meals. For full relaxation, there is also a full-service spa offering Blue Osa signature facials and body scrubs. Massage practitioners offering therapies such as Thai and Deep Tissue Massage. A Chinese Medicine acupuncturist is also available.
ABOUT THE RETREAT
Ramsay and Sammy will offer two yoga classes a day (morning and late afternoon), along with extra specialty classes/mini-workshops (TBD by interest & time availability). Both the morning and afternoon sessions will vary in style and format ranging from active vinyasa-style yang yoga to gentle, slow-flow classes incorporating elements of Yin and Restorative yoga, pranayama and meditation. We will incorporate philosophy discussion and mindfulness teachings into time before and/or after classes.
The yoga classes that we offer will be appropriate for all levels of students as we will offer the chance to modify or add on when appropriate. So whether you are a beginner or advanced student, we will work with you at your level to provide a week of challenge and growth. During the day, you will have the freedom to spend your time as you choose….treating yourself to a massage, napping, reading, sun bathing or going on an adventure tour (hiking, surfing, zip lining, waterfall rappelling, chocolate tours and more).

Blankets and other props will be used to support the body for complete comfort.
